As you may know, I have been trying to get Suff-folk interested in hyperlocal TV. The idea is that instead of non-local TV costing millions, produced by expensive professionals, all you actually need is locals armed with smartphones, producing their own television which we can all watch on the web. TV by the people, about the people, for the people.

Top video journalist, Michael Rosenblum, is pushing the same idea in east New York. He’s further ahead than me, not least because it’s his idea. This video was produced by his student, Emily Timmerman. She’d never made a video before Now she’s in line for earning good money for both herself and her community television station.

What can happen there can happen here.
