Course aim

This intensive interactive two-day workshop will give you the skills, knowledge and confidence you need to create compelling short-form video using smartphones and cutting-edge apps and accessories. A comprehensive alternative to our one-day Making Smartphone Video for Social Media course, Creating Video for Social Media and the Web goes into greater depth in every key area of video production: planning, shooting, editing and text generation.


Who should attend

Comms and digital content practitioners who are tasked with producing video for social media and websites. Those seeking a conversion path into mobile video production from traditional camcorder- and desktop-based technologies. Managers who need to brief and supervise professional videographers and editors. Previous experience of making videos would be helpful but is not essential.


What to expect

  • hands-on, engaging, project-based learning
  • interaction with the latest accessories and pro-level phone apps
  • a highly participative course limited to eight delegates or less.


Course objectives

Participation on the course will provide you with the tools you need to:

  • buy into the right apps and accessories
  • develop a targeted messaging strategy
  • tell a compelling story
  • light and shoot great interviews
  • capture punchy B roll and cutaways
  • create dynamic content with advanced editors
  • how to look and sound your best
  • generate engaging text captions and subtitles.

Note: All equipment, including phones, is provided for the course. Delegates are welcome to bring their own devices but they will need to install one of two apps, LumaFusion (iPhone/iPad, $29) or Kinemaster (Android, free).

Those wishing to work with Adobe Rush will need to bring their own MacBook, laptop or iPad with the app installed.
